    Diablo 3 thoughts post beta

So I have read a number of different articles discussing people thoughts about purchasing D3 post beta play but I would love to hear this communities input.

It was fun, but to be honest, aside from the multiplayer, it felt a lot like playing Torchlight which felt like playing Diablo, etc. That's not a bad thing, I had a lot of fun with that game and the multiplayer aspect was what I thought the original was missing. The problem is that Diablo3 is a $60 game, versus Torchlight 2 at $20. Honestly, I don't give a shit about a community auction house and with TL2 I won't have to be online just to play. TL2 will also have a level editor for community generated content. Given how ambivalent I already feel towards Diablo, and how unexcited I am to run the same boss over and over for loot in yet another game (I do that enough in SWTOR), it might be a hard sell for me on this one. Especially when the things I really like and want are going to be on sale in a less costly game. I know a lot of my friends will be playing this, and that will ultimately be the one reason I'd be inclined to buy it if I do. We'll see. Other things are vying for my money at the moment.

I had a lot of fun playing through the beta. I got to experience every class they had through the content and enjoyed some more than others. I have the annual pass for WoW so I will definitely be putting time into D3.

Looking forward to it. I tweet'ed that I dont think i will view the game as magical as I did 12 years ago just do to my age and timeline between games. Dont get me wrong Ill play the shit outa it at first, but I have a lot more ADD when it comes to games these days. I have a sizable list of HC and rare achievements in WoW that I can look back on but I just cant commit to games whole heartedly like I used to. Winter games are better than good weather games these days for me :P

I will completely get my value out of that game and its the perfect log in and log out game. I am not opposed to Torchlight 2 either. If its true, and like Diablo I would consider some time in it too, only if multiplayer is there. (release date?)

    See you there!

Anyone who pays $15 a month each for 2 games, or even one, doesn't have room to complain about spending $40 difference between 2 games Just sayin.

I liked it, I am a Diablo fanboy and still play D2:LOD. i will play this for a long time too I would imagine. It's nice to have a game that allows you to jump in and out to play with no real commitment, but you still get the enjoyment of leveling the character and collecting phat loots. Based off Kormus's post, I will probably grab torchlight as well. Whats $20 when I already waste $30 a month on 2 games I don't have time to play.

I dug it. It brought back memories of playing D2 with my buddies in college. I like the changes to abilities and the ability to get all of them and mix/match my skills. Overall, I'm really looking forward to it. It'll be a nice distraction from MMOs. It's pretty much Diablo II, but with improvements for me.

I enjoyed the beta (I'm still in it btw) and after playing it, was looking forward to the full game. What we saw in the beta was only 1/3 of Act I and there are 4 total Acts, so this game will have some playtime to it. I can guarantee that it gets tougher and more grindy as the Acts go on.

I still haven't put down my $60 towards it yet because like Kormus said, cost is definitely a factor. Guild Wars 2 is right around the corner as well and I'm still weighing the pros and cons of each to see which one I'll throw my weight behind. Due to it's release timeframe, it will more than likely be Diablo 3.

Worth my money. I think it will have a decent amount of replayability. And you cant deny paying for other games/subscrips with money made from playing another game

I'll be buying it as soon as I can (money's extremely tight right now but I think I can make it happen), even though I never did play the beta, because I know I'll love it. Diablo was my original Blizzard franchise. Even if I only play it once, I figure it'll be worth the money. After that, everything else is just gravy
